A migration script that moved more than 1,000 pages to a new platform.

The problem
APHIS was rebuilding its website on a new Drupal platform and needed to migrate a large amount of existing content. Manually recreating more than a thousand eligible pages would have required significant authoring time and introduced unnecessary opportunities for errors.
What I built
I developed an automated migration process that identified pages that could be moved programmatically, crawled the existing website, extracted and structured the required content, and imported it into Drupal.
- Researched and identified pages that could be safely migrated through automation.
- Built a crawler to collect page content, metadata, and other required information from the existing site.
- Created the transformation and import process needed to convert the collected data into Drupal-compatible content.
Result
More than 1,000 pages were migrated automatically, saving hundreds of hours of manual content editing and authoring while accelerating the overall website migration.
